Hi! It’s Alice from the Marketing Team taking over the blog today to fill everyone in on what a week in the life of a Marketing Manager looks like.
Monday started with an onboarding visit to one of our latest partner schools, Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School. Myself, Sales and Marketing Director, Simon Kidby and Area Manager, Lisa Berryman met some of the key players from the site to discuss our next steps.
Onboarding a new school is an important process for us at Schools Plus. It’s the time where we gather all the required detail from the school as well as timelining when we will be fully operationally live. The visit involves a meeting to discuss any questions the schools might have followed by a tour of the site where I take photographs and gather information.

This is the first time I see the new sites and it always excites me how different all the schools and their facilities can be. Touring the site gives me time to think about the location for our on-site branding and what groups we will be marketing the site for in order to fill the space.
The (long) journey back to Bournemouth gave me time to catch up on some emails and calls that I’ve missed whilst being on site.
Tuesday was an office day, so I was able to debrief my team on the visit I’d had the day before. We recently restructured the way we hold meetings and plan our goals and objectives, so I had my weekly catch up with Sales and Marketing Director, Simon where I swiftly updated him on actions marketing have taken throughout the previous week.
Wednesday was an early start for a site visit to Barclay Academy, another newly signed school. Once again myself and some of the wider Schools Plus Team attended the site. We toured the facilities and gathered all relevant information before grabbing a coffee. It’s always great to take advantage of being with colleagues who I don’t work with in the office everyday to update each other on different areas of the business.

On Thursday, myself and Georgina (Marketing Assistant) jumped on the train from Bournemouth to London to visit one of our Venue Managers, Robert and update the photos at Ark Globe Academy. We recently treated ourselves to some new equipment including a 360’ camera meaning we can get incredible shots of the facilities to showcase the space.
I planned well and had booked a day of annual leave for Friday to spend with my daughter who had been off school for half term. The week saw me out of office more than I usually am whilst keeping on top of my core duties. To say the long week was much needed was an understatement!
Hope you’ve enjoyed hearing about my week! 😊
