GoCardless is an online Direct Debit provider with a secure set-up process that allows the customer to pay both easily and safely. We ask all our customers to sign up to achieve a streamlined payment process whereby the amount is automatically debited from the account provided every month.

Setting up a GoCardless Account
To set up a GoCardless account, Schools Plus will provide the customer with a secure link via email. Once clicked, it will bring you to an online webpage where the following details are required:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address and postcode
- Your bank account’s sort code and account number or IBAN
This process should take no longer than 5 minutes. Upon completion, you should receive an email from GoCardless confirming your successful signup. If anything were to go wrong, you will also be notified.
What Happens Next
Whilst Schools Plus receives alerts following sign-ups we ask that all customers confirm completion with our finance team. This allows us to link your booking account with Schools Plus to the payment details you have entered with GoCardless. Please be advised that Schools Plus DO NOT see any of the payment details you have provided.
GoCardless Timeline
Now that your GoCardless account is active and your Schools Plus account is linked to your payment details, your bookings can commence without any problems. We will then send you an invoice around the 17th of every month. This invoice will show all your bookings due to take place in the following month. GoCardless will then notify you once we have set up payment to be taken from your account roughly about five to seven days after you have received your invoice. Payment will usually be taken on the 1st of every month and GoCardless will then send you another notification once the amount has been debited from your account.
When you receive your invoice from us, please check all your bookings are correct. If you wish to make any changes, check your invoice for our cut-off date. Any changes made after the cut-off date stated will be invoiced separately. The reason why we implement a cut-off date is that Direct Debits take several working days to be processed, so we need to give ample time for the funds to be submitted to the banks.
Any credit you do have on your account will not be shown on your invoice but will be taken into account when we process your GoCardless payment.
If you wish to cancel your GoCardless account, please get in touch with Schools Plus as we will be able to deactivate your account. If you wish to make any contact information changes to your GoCardless account please let us know and we can do these for you. However, if you need to amend your account details we will require you to set up a new account before we deactivate the old one. We would not be able to do this for you as it is a closed payment platform.

- Unfortunately, we are unable to set up your account for you due to the nature of the data
- You can use one GoCardless account for multiple venues if this suits the nature of your bookings
- GoCardless payments are covered by a Direct Debit guarantee
- GoCardless payments allow you to book venues with us and pay in a streamlined and hassle-free process
