As we’ve just arrived in May, we thought now would be a good time to reflect on the busy April for Schools Plus which included the always eventful Easter Holidays.
Half-Terms and school schedule breaks, Easter included, are exciting times for Schools Plus as our regular customers tend to take a well-earned respite from their regular classes which allows us to offer the temporary available space to new customers.
We were privileged to welcome a wide range of customers into our schools during last month’s Easter holidays. A customer we really enjoyed hosting was Active Day Camps, who took up residency in our partner school Harris Academy St John’s Wood. They put on a range of events for younger children across the school to keep them entertained during the holidays.
It’s not always new customers we see during half terms and extended school breaks, sometimes regular customers request extra bookings to run camps and workshops away from their regular schedule.
This was the case for The London Dance Company at Chiswick School, an established customer of ours who decided to take the opportunity of a more open calendar to run a “Easter Intensive” dance camp.
We were delighted to welcome in an influx of football-based holiday camps this Easter at Copthall and Chiswick School and another regular customer of ours; Moving Matters at Elmgreen School.
Our Hewett Academy resident cheerleaders had a lot to celebrate during Easter as the East Coast Emeralds (who we’ve mentioned before on the blog – sharing their uplifting story welcoming them to Schools Plus and helping them to build a permanent home at Hewett Academy) competed in a national cheerleading competition. The team did really well, achieving a fantastic second place prize.
Following on from cheerleading we do usually see a few Performing Art oriented bookings make use of the free space at our schools and this Easter was no different. We welcomed a Theatre group into Chobham Academy and a dance workshop into Haileybury Turnford School.
