Starting up at a new venue is always a very exciting time for Schools Plus. We love everything from the initial discussions with passionate school governors and board members to the numerous site visits and everything else up to opening night.
We’re pleased to share the news with you that we are now working alongside East Point Academy in Lowestoft, Suffolk!
East Point Academy is a valued member of The Inspiration Trust, a multi-academy trust based in East Anglia. Schools Plus are proud to already operate at the following Inspiration Trust sites – Jane Austen College, Sir Isaac Newton Sixth Form, The Hewett Academy and The Thetford Academy
One of the best parts of working at a new venue is sharing the new booking opportunities available for the local community here. We’d like to use the rest of this blog to take you through what will be available to book and hire at East Point Academy.
Firstly, the Sports Hall. This multi-functional sporting arena is the hub of the sports building at the academy. Complete with a viewing gallery, line markings and various sporting equipment; this hall is perfect for a wide range of active bookings!
If you wanted to take your active bookings outside then there are numerous outdoor facilities available at East Point Academy. These include the Multi-Use-Games-Area (MUGA) pitch – a well maintained area with tennis courts and netball poles – and the Astro Pitch, which is perfect for football games. There are also multiple Grass Pitches, perfect for athletics in the summer or football in the winter.
Moving back inside there are a wealth of options available for booking and hire at East Point Academy. Like many of our other partner schools, East Point Academy are kind enough to offer their wide range of classrooms for hire. These versatile spaces can be great for meetings, workshops, language schools and worship groups.
An impressive facility worth highlighting at the academy is the Dance Studio. This large and spacious room comes complete with hard flooring and a mirrored wall. There are speakers and a projector and screen available for use. Rather uniquely for a Dance Studio, you can also use the room for table tennis upon request.
Moving on to a similar facility, in terms of the bookings you’ll see here, the Drama Studio! This purpose-built studio is blacked out and has black flooring, really ensuring an intimate setting to rehearse performing arts shows. This space would also work for small gatherings, hobby groups, fitness classes and martial arts groups.
Also available for booking at East Point Academy – a large Dining Hall, suitable for a wide range of bookings, a Gymnasium which can be used for both fitness and dance classes and a Fitness Suite perfect for personal training sessions.
