Our School Spotlight series returns with a look around Clapton Girls’ Academy and a run-down of the fantastic facilities available for booking and hire here through Schools Plus.
Clapton Girls’ Academy is found in Lower Clapton in the London borough of Hackney and has over 100 years of schooling history behind them. The academy’s core values are compassion, ambition, integrity and resilience and they operate under the motto ‘Wisdom and Togetherness’.
Before we tell you all about the great booking opportunities available here we thought we’d first show you with our Virtual Tour video! This brief clip takes you on a journey through Clapton Girls’ Academy with each facility shown available for booking. (BELOW)
As you can see from the video, the facilities here are of the highest quality and it is no wonder why the academy is such a busy site on evenings, weekends and school holidays.
We’ll start our tour at the Sports Hall. This multi-functional venue comes complete with a wooden floor, various sports markings and provisions including basketball nets and scoreboards.
We welcome a wide range of different sporting events and fitness activities in the Sports Hall including Yoga, Badminton, Basketball, Martial Arts, Netball and Football. The Hall is three badminton courts wide and has access to nearby changing rooms.
Next up we have the Dance Studio, a bright and spacious venue within Clapton Girls’ Academy. The Studio comes complete with a fully mirrored wall (with a ballet barre) and would make a great home to dance groups looking for regular rehearsal space.
We now come to the hub of the academy in the Main Hall. This impressive venue can accommodate for up to 400 people and comes with access available to the chairs and tables making this a great host venue for large community gatherings or even business conferences.
The final venue we’d like to take you through is the Drama Studio, truly the ideal home for performing art bookings at Clapton Girls Academy. This intimate space comes complete with black lino flooring, black out curtains and access to the interactive whiteboard and the stage lighting upon request.
The Drama Studio is the ideal location for drama groups looking either for rehearsal space or even a venue to perform plays in. The Studio can also happily host other groups and bookings such as fitness classes, worship groups and general workshops.
Other fantastic facilities on offer at the academy include a range of Classrooms (including a specialist music room), a large Dining Hall which would be perfect for events and outside sporting venues including three Multi-Use-Games-Areas and a Playground with a running track.
