Our School Spotlight series returns today with a look around Elstree University Technical College and a preview of some the fantastic facilities available for booking and hire here through Schools Plus.
Elstree University Technical College (EUTC) is a relatively new creative college, having first opened in September 2013. They are based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. The college aims to equip their students, aged 14-19, “with the skills to be credible and successful within the creative and cultural industries.”
Schools Plus are thrilled to work at such a creative and high-tech site, we love that the facilities here are always up to the high industry standards of the subjects they represent. Due to the specialist nature of the college, there are some unique facilities to book here so let’s start the tour –
We’ll start by looking at one of those unique facilities we just mentioned; the Mini Theatre. Often used by EUTC for film showcases, this venue can be booked for a variety of other uses including meetings, conferences events and training. The intimate theatre can accommodate up to 60 people.
Another facility that you’d expect to see at a creative and technical college is the Drama Studio. This room, which you can black out with the curtains provided, is the ideal location for rehearsing performing art shows.
One of the most popular venues for hire at EUTC is the Dance Studio. This well-presented Studio is very light, modern and spacious. The portable mirrors available for use are perfect for running fitness classes including Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Step Aerobics and Combat.
Another bright and modern space at EUTC is the Fitness Studio. This venue works well for fitness classes and allows you the use of the high-class equipment there including cycling machines, free weights, core cables and a standing boxing. The studio can accommodate up to 20 people, making it a good venue for intimate personal training sessions.
There are a wide range of further facilities available to book at EUTC on evenings, weekends and school holidays. Some highlights include a flexible Small Hall and a larger Main Hall. There are, as with most of our partner schools, a range of classrooms available for booking. Finally, there is a Music Room (another unique venue) which is perfect for local bands to rehearse in.
