On this edition of our School Spotlight series we are looking around Harris Academy St John’s Wood, a co-educational secondary school in North London. We’ll be showcasing a selection of the truly fantastic facilities that are available for hire here.
Schools Plus started working alongside Harris Academy St John’s Wood just over a year ago and we’ve loved seeing the site grow since then. We’ve been delighted to see the local community make full use of the incredible facilities here.
Speaking of the facilities, lets start our tour by looking at a very popular facility at the academy in the Sports Hall. This multi-functional venue is the perfect home for a wide variety of sport bookings.
There is equipment and markings in the hall to accommodate basketball, badminton, football, netball and volleyball bookings. With changing room access nearby as well, you can see why the Sports Hall is such a popular facility to book at the academy.
Moving on from the Sports Hall onto an equally popular sporting venue, this time outside, in the 3G Pitch. This impressive and picturesque pitch is perfect for football bookings. The pitch can cater for 9-aside games and has floodlights set up, so you can book until later in the evening.
Harris Academy St John’s Wood has a selection of fantastic studios available for hire. The first is the Drama Studio, a purpose-built room featuring lino flooring, black out curtains and specialist lighting. This versatile space is perfect for performing art bookings such as local drama groups and show rehearsals.
The second studio available for hire is the Fitness Studio. This bright space has a mirrored wall and access to an AV system, making it perfect for dance classes or fitness classes such as yoga or specialist classes such as karate. Another studio available is the Activity Studio which is a secondary (much smaller) sports hall in many ways and can accommodate up to 100 people.
There are still more facilities to preview at the academy, so we’ll try our best to run through them now. There are a wide selection of Classrooms to hire, a bright and spacious Auditorium that can accommodate 300 + people and a Playground that is not only appropriate for sport but also a great outdoor event space.
