We’re proud to be an interesting and varied company, with lots of different elements to what we do and what we can offer as a business. So, with this in mind we thought we’d take the time to write out a literal A-Z of Schools Plus, to help us keep track of everything we do!
We hope in reading this you will learn a few things you didn’t know about Schools Plus and maybe clear up a few things you already did. So, without any more build up, here is the A-Z of Schools Plus …
A – Additional Income
Providing additional income to our partner schools is perhaps the biggest reason why we exist as a company. In 2018 alone we generated 3 million pounds of additional income for our partner schools, which has helped enrich education around the country!
B – Blogs

C – Customer Contact Centre
Our Customer Contact Centre is in Bournemouth and serves as the Schools Plus head office. The CCC is home to many different departments in the company including the Sales and Marketing team, our Finance and Renewal team and our Phone Operatives.
D –DBS
Safeguarding is massively important to us and we’re aware that working in schools brings a high sense of responsibility to what we do. Therefore, DBS checks are vital to us and we will require them on certain bookings.
E – Education Sector
We love providing additional income for the Education Sector and we’re proud to aide it anyway we can. We strongly believe that having a strong education sector is the best way forward for our country.
F – Facilities
We love our partner schools’ wonderful facilities from Sports Halls to Dance Studios to School Halls just to name a few, and we couldn’t exist without them!
G –Guest Blogs
We’re always delighted when our customers want to join us for a guest blog. Some of our favourites include an event recap with London Longsword Academy and a chat with Eliot Tang from Rising Stars Activities.
H – Harefield Academy

I – ‘360’ Images
Okay we slightly cheated with this one, but we are very proud of our 360’ Images which we are gradually adding to each of our partner schools’ microsites. Here is an example of one here.
J – James Woods
James Woods, along with Francis Woods, was one of our original founders in 2004. James went to become our long-standing Managing Director until early 2019, when he left for China to start Schools Plus 2.0. James remains as Schools Plus’s current executive chairman.
K – Knowledge
We are experts in our field and we’re the long running educational lettings provider in the country! We also generate more income for schools than any other lettings provider.
L – London
Although Schools Plus is a nationwide company, we are very active in the capital and currently have over 50 Partner Schools there. Check out our Venue Search page to see if we have a location near you.
M – Microsites
Each of our Partner Schools has their own Microsite, where you can browse the available facilities that we have for hire there. For example, here is Copthall School’s Microsite
N –New School FAQ
Our New School FAQ is one of our most popular blogs. It deals with the questions we regularly face from potential new partner schools and we invite anyone thinking of working with us to give it a read.
O – Other Services
We’re proud to offer some additional services away from Professional Venue Management.
Relief Staffing is one of these additional services that we can offer. We can be on hand to help out schools that find themselves suddenly short of staff. We explained this a bit further in a recent blog post here.
P – Partner Schools
Our Partner Schools are the schools who we work alongside to provide local communities the opportunity to hire their outstanding facilities on Evenings, Weekends and School Holidays.
Q – Question Time
We were delighted to recently welcome BBC Question Time into Thetford Academy to film a live broadcast of their show. This is just one recent example of the hundreds of exciting filming requests and one-off bookings that we’ve hosted. Read a catch up blog on the event here.

T – The Senior Leadership Team
Our Senior Leadership Team guide our overall strategy and make key decisions for the business.
The team is currently made up of the following people; Simon Kidby, Sales and Marketing Director, Mike Jenkinson-Deakin, HR + Development Director, Andy Haliwell, Finance Director and Wayne Cryer, Operations Director.
U –Utilisation
We truly do want the best for our partner schools and this means making sure their sites are as busy as possible. Our Utilisation programme tries to eliminate ‘dead time’ at venues wherever possible!
V – Venue Managers
We have professional On-Site teams at each of our Partner Schools. The team includes Venue Managers, Team Leaders and Venue Supervisors each who work together to help your booking run as smoothly as possible.
W – Website
Our Website is responsible for all our online bookings, is home to all our microsites and has a recently revamped venue search. The site can be found here – https://www.schoolsplus.co.uk/
X – Xylophone
Okay keep with us here … many of our partner schools kindly allow their classrooms to be hired by the local community. As well as general classrooms we also have more specialized rooms such as Art Rooms, ICT Rooms and Music Rooms which is where you will find Xylophones! (see, we got there).
Y – YouTube
Although we’ve touched on Social Media just before, we think it’s worth pointing out that our new YouTube channel is home to our Virtual Tour videos. These Virtual Tours give you a short tour around our partner schools, showing you the facilities that we have available for hire there.
